Wetlands And Falls


The amazing Iguazu Falls have been considered the most spectacular in the world. They are inside Iguazu National Park shared by Argentina and Brazil and declared Human Heritage by the UNESCO. This great wonderland are embraced by a huge and lush subtropical rainforest which contains thousands of cascades, small and big rivers witch allow for multiple activities. The powerful noise and size of this falls are truly awesome. The most amazing sight is the Garganta del Diablo (Devil's Throat), the biggest fall.

Itinerary


Day 1:
Departure from "Retiro" Bus Terminal (Buenos Aires) in the evening in a very comfortable Cama Bus (very wide and reclining seats and food on board included).

Day 2:
Arrive in Iguazu in the afternoon. Reception at the Bus Station and transfer to the hotel. Accommodation in a 3 star hotel with half board (drinks are not included). Afternoon at leisure.

Day 3:
Breakfast. You will be pick up from the hotel to do the Full day visit to the Argentinean falls. from 8am to 5 pm approximately.

Day 4:
Breakfast. You will be pick up from the hotel to do the half day visit to Brazilian falls.

Day 5:
Arrive in Buenos Aires in the morning.



Excursions:


ARGENTINEAN WATERFALLS:
From 8am to 5 pm approximately.
Upper Circuit: magnificent view of the waterfalls and access to the Iguazu River delta, made up of luxuriant vegetation islands. Time: 1h 15min. Difficulty: no stairs
Lower Circuit: a series of catwalks strategically placed for visitors to get several views of the falls and to get close to the cascades and charming spots of the forest. Time: 2h. Difficulty: stairs
Devil's Throat: indescribable for its beauty and energy, it presents an overwhelming combination of sounds and sceneries. Time: 1h 30min. Difficulty: no stairs.
Train of the Forest: a circuit of ecological trains running inside the forest and skirting the river that allows visitors to get around within the park and to get to the footbridges to see the attractions.

BRAZILIAN WATERFALLS:
Panoramic view of the falls, of all the falls on the Argentinean side and of the four falls belonging to Brazil. Lateral view of the Garganta del Diablo.
Time: 2:30 h. Difficulty: stairs

Take into account that the Brazilian side is closed for maintenance on Mondays until 1 pm. Therefore, it cannot be visited in the morning.

Optional Excursions

  • Visit San Martin Island:
    located in the heart of de the Argentinean falls, offering and spectacular views of San Martin falls and an enormous rock formation call "La Ventana". A free boat cross to this island every five minutes.

  • Great Adventure:
    it starts from the port opposite Island San Martín in inflatable boats that take you close to the Argentinean and Brazilian falls and to the Garganta del Diablo canyon. It continues with 8 km navigation down the Iguazu River, with a "bautismo en las brumas" (baptism in the mist), up to Puerto Macuco, after which there is a walk in the forest, from where you'll be driven in a 4WD along the Yacaratiá trail. Time: 1h. Difficulty: stairs. Not recommended for people with a heart condition or pregnant women.

  • Full Moon Waterfals:
    It is done two days before and after the full moon. Visitors are received by the company's staff at the Portal de Cataratas. Train trip from Main station to Garganta del Diablo station. Walk along the catwalks and visit to the Garganta's balconies.
    Welcome drink at Garganta del Diablo station (caipirinha and fruit juices)

    Train trip back to the visitor centre. End of the tour.
    The price includes the train trip, the professional guides' service, the welcome drink, and a first aid and ambulance service during the tour.

  • Jesuit Ruins and Wanda Mines:
    40 km from Puerto Iguazu, Misiones province, are the Wanda mines of semi-precious stones where, accompanied by a guide, you will visit the front of exploration of the stones. You will see crystals of quarts, amethyst, topaz and agate, to name a few, and visit the premises where the stones are cut into beautiful shapes. The trip continues on National Route 12 from where you will be able to enjoy landscape of the region, passing by little cities, towns and plantations to get to the impressive Jesuit Ruins. These date from the 17th century, when the Jesuits missionaries settled in this area.
    The local guide in charge of the tour will comment on the life and habits of the Guaraní Indians, and explain how the Jesuit mission buildings were built and how the Indians were catechized. Leaves regularly on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

  • Iguazu Forrest:
    it is a unique place for its characteristics and its privileged geographical location, 7 km from Puerto Iguazu and 15 km from the waterfalls. This masterpiece of Nature comprises near 15 000 hectares of enviable paradisiacal topography, where the visitor will discover an ecological treasure, enjoying the natural museums, the tabernacles of flora. The perfect place to relax and contemplate the forest, which seduces you into practicing activities such us trekking, rappelling in massive trees or water cascades and zip-lining in Barranco del Tigre.

  • Rain Forest Safari:
    It is a 20 km trip along the Yacaratiá trail at the Iguazu National Park reservation. This trail is closed to private vehicles. The journey takes approximately 2 hours and it is done in specially prepared, open vehicles to facilitate photographing and filming. Having a good view is very important because the trees in the forest have a diversity of singular plants and animals: epiphytes such as orchids, the strangler fig and a great variety of birds and arboreal mammals like squirrels and monkeys. During the trip there are a few stops and walks with and an expert guide.
