Buenos Aires nightlife is vibrant. There are many theatres and concert halls featuring foreign artists. Economic instability has meant a contraction of some of the more extravagant nightclubs for which Buenos Aires was famous, though there are still a large number of smaller intimate boîtes (clubs) and many stage shows. There are casinos throughout Argentina.
Entertainment in Buenos Aires
-
Anchorena 1170., Buenos Aires, Argentina
A well-established gay club in the heart of well-heeled Barrio Norte, somewhat similar to Londons Heaven.
-

Affiliated to the University of Buenos Aires, this friendly cultural centre offers free events including live music (rock, funk and DJs).
-

Three auditoriums offering a range of international and Argentine theatre as well as ballet and concerts.
-
Balcarce 460, Buenos Aires, Argentina
Live music including rock, jazz and tango, with salsa dancing on Saturday nights.
-
Guardia Vieja 3360, Buenos Aires, Argentina
Tucked down a rather uninviting street by the side of the Abasto shopping centre, this is one of Buenos Aires most established alternative bar-cum-theatre-cum-music venues and probably a good place to meet one of the citys many psychoanalysts.
-
Estados Unidos 299, Buenos Aires, Argentina
One of San Telmos most reasonably priced tango shows.
-
Rodriguez Peņa 1220, Buenos Aires, Argentina
An Irish bar with a porteņo touch, this is a good place to meet foreigners - but watch out for the dart board placed perilously close to the toilets.
